With the Sideguard Assist, Mercedes-Benz Trucks is the first manufacturer currently offering such a safety assistance system. The Sideguard Assist means significantly improved protection for the weakest road users. The system helps the driver avoid collisions with cyclists, pedestrians or stationary obstacles such as traffic lights, traffic signs or light poles while turning right by giving him early warning and leaving more time for timely braking. The Sideguard Assist is available for the Actros, Antos and Arocs series and, most recently, for the Econic and Setra coaches.
