Mazda Canada reports sales for January 2016

RICHMOND HILL, ON, Feb. 2, 2016 /CNW/ – Mazda Canada Inc. (MCI) today reported January sales of 3,383 vehicles, an increase of 5.6 percent versus January 2015.

Key January 2016 sales notes:

  • Mazda Canada reported sales of 3,383 in January 2016. This represents an increase of 5.6 percent year-over-year (YOY).
  • MCI’s best-selling model continues to be the Mazda3, with 1,281 vehicles sold in January.
  • Mazda CX-5 had its best January sales ever with 1,267 vehicles sold, which is an increase of 20.2 percent versus January 2015.
  • Mazda’s all-new CX-3 sold 527 vehicles in January, and starts 2016 as the third highest seller in the Mazda lineup, behind the CX-5.
  • With the recent addition of the CX-3, Mazda’s line of CX crossover vehicles continue a strong growth trend, with sales increasing by 63.9 percent in January.
  • Popularity of the new fourth-generation MX-5 continues into the winter months, as January sales for the MX-5 jumped 150.0 percent.
  • SKYACTIV Technology proves to be the key between performance and fuel efficiency as customers demand a no compromise solution. More than 93 percent of Mazdas sold in January were equipped with SKYACTIV Technology.
