COSTA MESA, Calif., Oct. 8, 2012 – Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc’s. (HATCI) recent investment in a new research facility at its Superior Township, Mich. location was nominated as a 2012 Deal of the Year under the research category by the AnnArbor.com’s Business Review.
After receiving nominations from the public, three nominees are chosen in each of the seven sectors that lead the local economy in Ann Arbor: health care, retail, technology, research, commercial real estate, nonprofits, and construction and development. Awards also are given to the “Company of the Year” and “Executive of the Year.”
In January of this year, HATCI announced it would further its commitment to the State of Michigan and Washtenaw County by building a world-class Hot/Cold Weather Dynamometer Test facility at its Superior Township location, just south of Ann Arbor, MI. Hyundai invested $15 million to construct the testing laboratory, along with other upgrades at the six-year-old technical facility.

The Hyundai America Technical Center Superior Township location opened in 2005 and has approximately 170 employees.
An event will be held on Nov. 2 at Eastern Michigan University’s Student Center to honor the nominees.
