As a challenging 2011 came to a close, the MDX luxury SUV again led Acura monthly sales with 4,588 units sold, down 22.1 percent based on Daily Selling Rate* (DSR). Total monthly sales for Acura were 13,129 units (down 15.2 percent) while year-to-date** sales totaled 123,299 (down 8.0 percent).
“As we close the chapter on a tough year, Acura will start off 2012 strong with the debut of three all-new products at the North American International Auto Show, including the next generation NSX,” said Jeff Conrad, Acura vice president of sales. “Although we still had low inventory in December, our production levels are now back to normal. With a great line-up of products and all-new ILX and RDX models coming in the spring, 2012 will be a very good year for Acura.”
The next best selling Acura light truck was the RDX crossover SUV with 1,576 units sold, up 2.3 percent. Acura light truck sales totaled 6,250 (down 18.6 percent) while total car sales were 6,879 (down 11.9 percent).
Acura’s TSX sports sedan led December car sales with 3,546 units sold, down 19.3 percent. The TL performance luxury sedan was Acura’s next best selling car with sales with 3,283 units, down 0.2 percent.
