Ulrich Hackenberg appointed new Board Member for Technical Development at AUDI AG as of July 1, 2013

Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, praised Wolfgang Dürheimer’s time at Audi as a phase of intensive work in important areas regarding future mobility: “On behalf of the entire Audi Board of Management, I thank Wolfgang Dürheimer for his dedicated performance.”

Ulrich Hackenberg has been a member of Volkswagen’s Brand Board for Technical Development since February 2007. He gained his doctorate in automotive technology at RWTH Aachen University in 1985 and then came to AUDI AG. In 1989 he was in charge of “Concept Definition” and later he was responsible for the technical project management of the entire product range.

In 1998 Hackenberg moved to Volkswagen AG and was responsible for the areas of  “Superstructure Development” and “Concept Development”. He also restructured Technical Development at Rolls Royce Bentley Motor Cars Ltd. as a Member of the Board and planned the new Bentley model range. In 2002, Hackenberg moved back to AUDI AG, where he was in charge of the areas of “Concept Development”, “Superstructure Development” and “Electrics/Electronics”.  He also developed the “Modular Longitudinal Matrix”.
