The end of the week is finally here and for those last few moments the clock feels like it’s ticking just a little bit slower. And when 5PM arrives, it’s off with the uncomfortable shoes, and on with the Ultimate Weekend Escape. This time we’re escaping the hustle and bustle of busy Montreal and headed to Quebec City for some much needed RR. Think you can name some of the stops we made along the way?
Leaving Montreal after work on a Friday isn’t easy, but being inside a Ford Escape can make traffic a bit more enjoyable than we’re used to. Along the way we used Bluetooth to sync up some tunes with the MyFord Touch, used the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) on the highway, and used one-touch keyless entry to get in and out of the Escape the entire trip.
Looking to get out of Montreal for a weekend away? We were able to make it to Quebec City, in less than 3 hours. It’s close enough that travelling doesn’t take an entire day, but far enough away that you feel like you’ve gone somewhere.
We left Montreal and headed up Highway 40 to Trois-Rivières for some sightseeing and a quick bite to eat. Then it was back onto Highway 40 and up to Quebec City where we were able to check into our hotel at dusk. The next morning we went for brunch at Le Petit Cochon Dingue, walked around Old Quebec City and then made out way to Chutes-Montmorency waterfalls. After that we headed back into town and took an evening horse and carriage ride around town before heading back to the hotel for the night. Sunday morning we packed up and stopped off at Cyclo Services to rent some bikes for a quick ride along the river and were able to make it home Sunday night.
