Nissan North America today announced that Vinay Shahani has been named director, marketing communications and media, Nissan North America, effective April 1. He will report to Jon Brancheau, vice president, Nissan marketing.

In his new role, Shahani will lead marketing strategies and initiatives that enhance Nissan’s brand and sales power. He succeeds Bill Peffer, who on April 1 is taking on a new role as managing director, Nissan (Australia) Pty. Ltd.

Shahani, who currently serves as Dallas-area general manager, joined Nissan in 2004 and has held positions of increasing responsibility in manufacturing, product marketing, and sales.
