What’s New – October 2018
The 2019 model year is another big one for Nissan, starting with the early October launch of the all-new 2019 Nissan Altima, which features new exterior and interior styling, a new platform featuring two all-new engines, and the first application of all-wheel drive on a Nissan sedan in the U.S. The new Altima is bringing fresh style and excitement back to the mid-size sedan category. It has a starting MSRP of $23,7501.
Also added to the list of autumn debuts are the 2019 TITAN and TITAN XD – both available with the dynamic new Fender Premium Audio System.
The 2019 Nissan lineup got off to an early start last spring with the 370Z, followed in the summer by Sentra, Versa Sedan, Frontier, Armada, Versa Note, LEAF and Rogue. Specific information on each of these models follows.
Some of the key changes for the 2019 model year include the wide adoption of the Rear Door Alert (RDA) system and NissanConnect® with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™.
Also new for 2019 is Nissan Safety Shield 360, a suite of active safety technologies, first available on the all-new 2019 Altima and 2019 Rogue. Nissan Safety Shield 360 will come standard on one million new vehicles sold annually in the U.S. by 2021. The suite of advanced driver-assist systems includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist and Rear Automatic Braking. Safety Shield 360 supports the Nissan Intelligent Mobility vision to redefine how cars are driven, powered and integrated into society.

2019 Nissan Altima
The all-new 2019 Altima is offered in a range of trim levels – S, SR, SV, SL and Platinum. All five come equipped with the standard 2.5-liter engine and are available with Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.
The starting MSRP2 of $23,750 includes a long list of standard features, including Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, 8.0-inch color display with multi-touch control, Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (I-FCW) and Rear Door Alert (RDA).

An exclusive Altima Edition ONE launch edition, based on the Platinum VC-Turbo, is offered in limited numbers and comes complete with a first-ever Nissan Concierge service.
The 2019 Altima is designed to shake up the midsize sedan market, elevating its competitiveness in the segment with exclusive Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies such as the advanced ProPILOT Assist1.
It is also the second Nissan model, following the recently launched 2019 Nissan Rogue, to offer Nissan Safety Shield 360 – which includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Lane Departure Warning (LDW), radar-based Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and High Beam Assist (HBA).
Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Prices2 (MSRP) for the 2019 Nissan Altima Sedan:
Destination and Handling $895.
The 2019 Altima’s expressive design is lower, longer and wider than the previous generation with a highly balanced, aggressive stance that includes available 19-inch wheels and tires. Inside, the all-new premium interior features a wide “gliding wing” instrument panel – which accentuates the exterior’s low cowl and hood, helping create an open, airy environment. It is available in a range of nine dynamic exterior colors.
Key interior comfort and convenience features range from standard 8-way power driver’s seat with added bolstering for improved holding and support, to a selection of audio and infotainment choices, including a Bose® Premium Audio system with nine speakers, and a new digital amplifier with eight channels of custom equalization.
Standard on all grade levels is a new 2.5-liter DOHC inline 4-cylinder direct injection engine, which is rated at 188 horsepower (versus the previous 2.5-liter’s 179 hp) and 180 lb-ft of torque (versus the previous 177 lb-ft). More than just the gains in horsepower and torque, the new engine is more refined, quieter and offers improved fuel economy (based on EPA figures).
Replacing the previous-generation Altima’s 3.5-liter V6 engine is the company’s world’s first production-ready variable compression turbo inline 4-cylinder, called the VC-Turbo. It delivers near V6-level performance with 4-cylinder fuel efficiency. The VC-Turbo seamlessly changes its compression ratio between 8:1 (for high performance) and 14:1 (for high efficiency). The engine delivers 248 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque (premium fuel). The new engine is available on Altima SR and Platinum VC-Turbo front-wheel drive grades.
The 2019 Altima also offers available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive for the first time ever on a Nissan sedan in the U.S. The AWD system is available on all trim levels equipped with the 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine.
The range of safety and convenience features includes standard Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (I-FCW) and Intelligent Driver Alertness (I-DA) on all grades. Intelligent Around View Monitor (I-AVM) is standard on the Altima Platinum.

The system’s 485-watt, 9-channel amplifier with Panasonic’s proprietary Acoustic Motion Control™ renders the reverberation and ambience of original recordings with stunning realism. The result is the delivery of “arena-sized sound” to the roomy TITAN Crew Cab and King Cab cabins.

As part of a Nissan model line initiative, the innovative Rear Door Alert (RDA) system is now standard on all King Cab and Crew Cab TITAN models. Nissan plans to have RDA standard on all four-door trucks, sedans and SUV nameplates by model year 2022.
Again in 2019, TITAN is available in a full range of rugged half-ton models, including Single Cab, King Cab and Crew Cab body configurations, 4×2 and 4×4 drive, and a choice of up to five grade levels. The TITAN Midnight Edition Package, introduced last year, is again available on Crew Cab SV and SL grade 4×4 and 4×2 models, providing a custom look straight from the factory.
Like the TITAN XD, the TITAN was developed with core Nissan planning, design, engineering and manufacturing teams contributing from Tennessee, California, Michigan, Arizona and Mississippi. The TITAN is assembled in Canton, Mississippi, with its V8 engines assembled in Decherd, Tennessee.2
