Mazda Canada reports sales for September 2016

RICHMOND HILL, ON, Oct. 3, 2016 /CNW/ – Mazda Canada Inc. (MCI) today reported September sales of 6,013 vehicles, representing a decrease of 9.4 percent versus last year. Year-to-date (YTD) sales through September are down 4.8 percent versus last year, with 52,759 vehicles sold.

Key September 2016 sales notes:

  • The all-new 2016 CX-9 recorded its best September sales ever with 182, increasing 82.0 percent year-over-year (YOY).
  • For the second time in as many months, the best-selling model was the CX-5, putting the Mazda3 into second place.
  • Mazda CX-5 had its best September sales month ever with 2,385 vehicles sold, which is an increase of 12.3 percent versus September 2015.
  • Mazda’s subcompact CX-3 sold 819 vehicles in September, and is the third highest seller in the Mazda lineup, behind the CX-5 and Mazda3.  
  • With the new CX-9 in the ranks, Mazda’s line of CX crossover vehicles continues a strong growth trend, with YTD sales to the upside by 25.8 percent.   
  • SKYACTIV Technology proves to be the key between performance and fuel efficiency as customers demand a no compromise solution. 97.6 percent of Mazda vehicles sold in September were equipped with SKYACTIV Technology.
