Mazda Canada reports sales for February 2017

RICHMOND HILL, ON, March 1, 2017 /CNW/ – Mazda Canada Inc. (MCI) today reported February sales of 4,533 vehicles, representing an increase of 15.0 percent versus February 2016. This is the best February sales month for Mazda Canada since 2013. Year to date sales are 8,542, which is an increase of 16.6 percent compared to the same period in 2016.

Key February 2017 sales notes:

  • For the second month in a row and five out of the last seven months, CX-5 was the best-selling model in the Mazda lineup, ahead of the perennially best-selling Mazda3 compact car. CX-5 had its best February sales ever with 1,650 vehicles sold, which is an increase of 19.0 percent year-over-year (YOY).
  • CX-9 continues its high-flying sales growth in the month of February, with an increase of 57.6 percent versus the same month in 2016. This is now the eleventh consecutive month of YOY growth for the new second generation CX-9 following its launch in spring 2016.
  • Mazda3 also enjoyed a 7.2 percent gain in February sales, with 1,555 sold.
  • Mazda’s line of CX crossover vehicles continue a strong growth trend, starting off the first two months of 2017 with sales increasing by 20.7 percent.
  • SKYACTIV Technology provides the link between performance and fuel efficiency as customers demand a no compromise solution. 90.0 percent of Mazda vehicles sold in February were equipped with SKYACTIV Technology.
