RICHMOND HILL, ON, Sept. 4, 2014 /CNW/ – Mazda Canada announced sales
for August 2014 today totaling 7,248, which is an increase of 2%
compared to August 2013 and the best August sales since 2010. Total
year-to-date sales of 50,583 are up by 1% versus 2013.
Sales in August were led by the compact Mazda3 with 4,203 sold,
increasing 7% versus August 2013. For the first time, 100% of all
Mazda3s sold in August were equipped with the fuel-efficient SKYACTIV
Technology, which also accounted for 91% of all Mazda vehicles sold in
the month of August.
The CX-5 recorded its best ever sales month in August, with sales of
2,048 units, representing a gain of 6% versus August 2013.
At a private event in Monterey, California on September 3rd, automotive
media and Miata owners from across North America received their first
look at the upcoming fourth generation Mazda MX-5. Simultaneous events
were also held in Tokyo, Japan and Barcelona, Spain to make the
unveiling of the new roadster a truly global event. More details about
this stunning new roadster will be revealed at a later date.
