Mazda Canada reports sales for April 2015

— CX-5 records second consecutive best sales month ever —

RICHMOND HILL, ON, May 1, 2015 /CNW/ – Mazda Canada announced sales for April 2015 today totaling 7,311, which is a decrease of 1% compared to April 2014.

Sales in April were led by the compact Mazda3 with 4,233 sold. The CX-5 was the second-best selling model for Mazda in April, and recorded a second consecutive best sales month ever with 2,232 units sold. The CX-5 has now enjoyed nine consecutive months of record year-over-year sales.

“We’re thrilled to see the CX-5 still regularly breaking its own sales records, month after month, which is right in line with the shift consumers are making to the crossover segment,” said David Klan, Senior Director, Sales, Marketing, and Regional Operations. “With this trend in mind, we’re very excited to introduce consumers to the first-ever Mazda CX-3 subcompact crossover later this month; a vehicle which will delight owners with its rich level of content and value, along with segment-busting features and driving dynamics.”

In April, 93% of all Mazda vehicles sold were equipped with the fuel-efficient SKYACTIV Technology. Mazda is moving ever closer to completing a fully SKYACTIV line-up, which will be bolstered late May with the introduction of an all-new subcompact crossover, the CX-3, and then this coming summer with the fourth generation of the iconic MX-5 roadster.
