KIA MOTORS PARTNERS WITH SCRIPPS NETWORKS DIGITAL
TO SUPPORT LAUNCH OF ALL-NEW 2010 KIA FORTE
IRVINE, Calif., August 19, 2009 Kia Motors America (KMA) has partnered with Scripps Networks Digital to extend the launch of the all-new 2010 Kia Forte compact sedan, which is dubbed The First of Its Kind for its unique combination of standard technology, convenience, comfort and safety features. The partnership includes: Whats Your Forte sweepstakes on FoodNetwork.com and DIYnetwork.com, rich media units with a custom recipe generator on FoodNetwork.com, sponsorship of FoodNetwork.coms Recipe of the Day widget, print ads and on-air spots.
“Exposing the Kia brand to the wide variety of passionate and practical people who turn to Scripps Networks websites including FoodNetwork.com and DIYnetwork.com is a natural fit for the Forte, which defies expectations and stands out from the crowd, said Michael Sprague, vice president of marketing, KMA. A first of its kind, Fortes trailblazing comfort, technology and comprehensive safety features make it an attractive and cost-effective solution, which meets the needs of value-conscious consumers.
The Whats Your Forte sweepstakes on FoodNework.com and DIYnetwork.com helps do-it-yourselfers pursue their passions with helpful tips and advice in a variety of categories, including cooking, home improvement and gardening. The sweepstakes offers a variety of prizes, including more than $10,000 in prizes. The first place winner receives a $5,000 gift card, the second place winner is awarded iRobot products, and weekly winners get $500 gift cards from Williams-Sonoma, Crate Barrel, Lowe’s or Home Depot. Print and on-air spots will drive awareness of the sweepstakes.
The Pantry Genie is an interactive rich media ad unit custom created for the Kia campaign that will generate recipes for the user based on one of 12 typical pantry ingredients selected. Kia Motors’ tagline is the power to surprise, continued Sprague. The creative Pantry Genie the wizards at Scripps Networks have whipped up for Kia Motors works by generating surprising dinner combinations made with ingredients most people have on hand in their pantry. It is perfect for the FoodNetwork.com audience and right on target with the Kia Motors message.
Kia Motors also will be sponsoring the popular FoodNetwork.com “Recipe of the Day” widget. The downloadable widget offers a new favorite chef and recipe from FoodNetwork.com every day.
