FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Nov. 11, 2014 – Hyundai Motor America has been honored with the Project Leadership Award at the annual REmmy Awards hosted by CoreNet Global Southern California for its excellence and best practices in corporate real estate. The award recognizes Hyundai and its partners for their work designing and building the all-new Hyundai headquarters, which is located in Fountain Valley, Calif.
“Earning the Project Leadership Award pays tribute to the ambitious design plans and successful execution of the all-new LEED Gold certified Hyundai Motor America headquarters,” said Michael Fox, director of administrative services, Hyundai Motor America. “The building further amplifies Hyundai’s brand image with the structure’s floating design and clean lines, exuding sustainability, harmony and forward-thinking leadership.”
Hyundai Motor America moved into its Fountain Valley campus more than 20 years ago, shortly after it began selling vehicles in the United States. Hyundai demolished its old building in 2012 and completely re-imagined the facility, which today is more than doubles the size of its predecessor to reflect 500,000 square feet. The two-year construction project, valued at about $200 million, was an effort in Hyundai’s long-term future, allowing for company growth and investment in the local economy.
A national review board comprised of senior corporate real estate executives selected the winners of the REmmy Awards. The recipients of the Project Leadership Award included Hyundai Motor America for overall project leadership, Cresa Partners for project management support, Gensler for architectural design and construction administration, Hyundai Engineering America for general contractor construction services, Snyder Langston for construction management support, and Turelk for interiors tenant improvements construction services.
