Don’t resist the rinse
Before you actually start washing your car, give it a good rinse to remove any loose debris.
Double your buckets
When you’re ready to wash, the trick is to get two separate buckets—one containing soapy water (be sure to use a proper car soap) and one containing clean water.
Start with the soap
Using a large sponge, wash the car first with soapy water. Then, rinse your sponge in the clean water to remove any extra debris it may have picked up.
Stick it to spots
Once you’ve gone over the entire car with soapy water, rinse and then dry completely (if you don’t, you may end up with some spots). Try using a microfiber cloth—they work as well as a regular cotton cloth and are more eco-friendly.
For wonderful wheels…
Make sure to use a cleaning product that’s water-based and non-corrosive.
For gorgeous glass…
Be sure to clean the glass last, which will have grime and dirt from the previous steps.
For incredible interiors…
To clean your inside windshield, use a cleaner that’s ammonia-free since ammonia can harm the car’s interior.
To keep your mats looking meticulous, hit them with compressed air to blast away dirt.
To keep—or get back—that new car smell, take your compressed air and aim the nozzle into the car’s interior vents. Next, throw a dryer sheet under both front seats.
