Golf pro Rafa Cabrera Bello surfs on the Eisbach wave into BMW International Open.

Munich. Hang loose: Rafa Cabrera Bello swapped his
golf clubs for a surf board to ride the famous wave on the Eisbach in
Munich’s English Garden today. With temperatures soaring, and with his
practice round for the BMW International Open completed, this was a
novel and exciting way to cool off.

The Ryder Cup star loves to surf when he’s not playing golf, so the
Spaniard was determined not to miss Munich’s unusual surfing hotspot.
He loaded his surfboard into a BMW 5 Series Touring and drove from
Golfclub München Eichenried to the English Garden, where he was
impressed by the legendary Eisbach wave. “I actually do a lot of
surfing, but this standing wave is something completely different. It
is incredible fun, and I think I got to grips with it in the end. It
was certainly a fantastic experience.”
