Oshawa, Ontario (March 1, 2016) — Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers delivered 15,729 vehicles in February 2016, an increase of 14 per cent versus February 2015.  GM’s retail sales increased 18 per cent for the month.

John Roth, vice president, sales, service and marketing for GM Canada said, “January and February have been a strong start for Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac building even further on the sales momentum started in 2015 with our return to sales leadership in several months.”

Roth added, “For 2016 our product lineup has never been stronger and it continues to grow with the launch of new cars, trucks and crossovers like the ultimate mobile device, the Chevrolet Spark and the new 2016 GMC Sierra eAssist Powertrain. We are excited to bring even more new vehicles for Canadians during our year of nine launches across our Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac cars, trucks and crossovers.”

February 2016 Brand Sales Highlights:

  • Chevrolet sales are up 18 per cent for the month with cars increasing 37 per cent driven by sales of the Volt (up 168 per cent), Malibu (up 165 per cent), Camaro (up 83 per cent) and Spark (up 72 per cent). Chevrolet pickup sales increased by 16 per cent this year, driven by Silverado (up 9 per cent) for the month 
  • Buick sales are up 5 per cent for the month, driven by the sales of the Verano (up 23 per cent)
  • GMC sales are up 6  per cent for the month, marking the 20th consecutive month of growth, led by sales of the Yukon XL (up 57 per cent)
  • Cadillac sales are up 45 per cent for the month, marking 7 months of consecutive growth, driven by sales of the SRX (up 73 per cent) and Escalade (up 51 per cent)
