GM Canada Leads November Sales*

Oshawa, Ontario (December 1, 2016) — GM brands rolled ahead in Canada in November as Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers delivered 28,523 vehicles in November 2016, an increase of 31 per cent compared to November 2015. Based on initial estimates, GM led the industry, driven by strong retail sales gains of 47 per cent year over year. Calendar year-to-date, GM Canada sales are up 2 per cent.
John Roth, vice president, sales, service and marketing for GM Canada said, “November was an outstanding month for sales of cars, trucks, crossovers and electric vehicles to consumers in all regions of Canada.”
Roth added, “We want to build on this momentum as we look to launch the Chevrolet Bolt EV, MOTOR TREND’s Car of the Year, in early 2017.”
November 2016 Brand Sales Highlights:
- Chevrolet total sales year over year are up 25 per cent driven by sales of the Spark, Malibu, Volt, Trax, Equinox, Traverse, Colorado, Silverado, Tahoe and Suburban
- Buick total sales year over year are up 54 per cent. Buick SUV sales increased 93 per cent year over year driven by sales of the all-new Envision, Encore and Enclave
- GMC total sales year over year are up 41 per cent driven by sales of the Terrain, Yukon, Canyon and Sierra
- Cadillac total sales year over year are up 3 per cent driven by sales of the all-new XT5, XTS and Escalade
Data is not adjusted for the difference in selling days. November 2016 had 26 selling days and November 2015 had 24 selling days.
