Oshawa, Ontario (August 7, 2015) — GM Canada today announced a C$13 million investment in its St. Catharines Powertrain facility to enable the plant to produce more variants of the 3.6L V6 engine currently being built at the plant. Future St. Catharines production volumes will be determined through market demand and ongoing discussions with Unifor.
Stephen Carlisle, president and managing director of General Motors of Canada said, “This new investment in our St. Catharines Powertrain facility will provide us with more options and capability for the future. It’s another example of how GM is living up to its commitments and building solid capability for the future in Canada.”
The GM St. Catharines Powertrain plant is one of North America’s largest engine and transmission plants.
