The arts have the rare ability to emphasize and evoke the universal emotions that connect us all. Whether by film, painting, music, or dance, everyone has been moved by a piece of art.
“Art and culture make us dream and unite all human beings.”
− Monica Majewski, Artists’ Program Coordinator at YES Montreal
With this in mind, Ford partnered with YES! Montreal for a fundraising event at L’Olympia Theater on October 30th, that featured a silent auction and performances by Soul Stream, and The Hellbound Hepcats.
Ford was pleased to donate 18 Fiesta-inspired art pieces for the silent auction. Originally created by for the 9 Artists/24 Hours with the Fiesta campaign, the art was displayed in several Montreal subway stations to support the launch of the all-new Fiesta and offer the opportunity for the city’s local talent to shine.
“Ford fully respected our creative process. They gave us complete creative freedom, and it was amazing.”
− Damian Siqueiros, artist
All proceeds from the event were donated to YES! Montreal, a non-profit organization providing support services to help Quebecers find employment, and start and grow businesses.
“The [employment] services helped me grow my career in Quebec, and now I give back to them by teaching workshops with YES!.”
− Cara Carmina, artist
