TORONTO, ONTARIO – August 19, 2021 – Travel where others fear to tread, in the powerful and rugged 2022 Toyota Sequoia – the culmination of Toyota’s legendary history of building trucks able to tackle and tame the harshest driving conditions on the planet. Wherever you need to go, and whatever you need to take with you, Sequoia can handle it.
“With a winning combination of performance, presence and premium features, the Toyota Sequoia is the full-size SUV in a class by itself,” said Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. “Sequoia provides a spacious and refined cabin, impressive towing capability, the comfort amenities to make every trip enjoyable, and the safety systems that provide peace of mind.”
The Sequoia makes an immediate impression, at the curbside or the camp site. Its body sculpting is bold and sophisticated, while its wide stance is firmly supported on large wheels. Standard features include power adjustable and heated exterior mirrors with puddle lamps, LED headlamps, colour-keyed exterior fittings, a power moon roof, power back door, rear spoiler, and running boards.
Sequoia’s exterior is commanding, but its interior is spacious, accommodating, and advanced. Sequoia’s three-row seating design starts with an eight-person configuration, featuring a second-row bench seat. Platinum and TRD Pro models replace the bench with a pair of captain’s chairs for added comfort and a seven-person capacity. All models feature seats clad in beautiful leather, and power-folding 60/40 split third-row seating that makes it easy for Sequoia to host people or haul cargo. With all second and third row seats stowed, Sequoia’s massive interior holds up to 3,400L (120 cubic feet) of cargo.
Under the hood, all 2022 Sequoia models feature a powerful yet efficient 5.7L i-FORCE V8 that generates a commanding 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque. This is coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift mode, transmission fluid warmer, and transmission cooler to create a driving experience that is confident, powerful, and effortless. A convenient one-touch 4WD system and two-speed transfer case with lockable Torsen limited-slip differential means commanding power to all wheels is there when needed. All Sequoia models are factory-fitted with a towing package that includes a 4-pin and 7-pin wiring harness, trailer brake pre-wire, a Class IV weight distribution trailer hitch, and Trailer Sway Control and Trailer Control logic systems – making Sequoia ready to tow up to 7,100 pounds.
All models are standard equipped with an impressive bundle of comfort, convenience and technology features – including a 7” touch screen display audio system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a 4.2” multi-information display, 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat and four-way power adjustable front passenger seat, heated front row seats, three-zone independent automatic climate control, and the Toyota Smart Key System with Push Button Start.
A long list of standard safety systems includes Toyota Safety Sense P, the Toyota Star Safety System, an anti-theft system, a backup camera, Toyota’s Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, eight air bags, and front and rear clearance sonar.
