• New Board function “Information Technology and Processes” created

The Supervisory Board of Volkswagen Financial Services AG has appointed Dr. Mario Daberkow (43) as Member of the Board of Management responsible for information technology (IT) and processes, effective July 1, 2013. Financial Services AG has created this new Board function to take account of the growing importance of IT and process management, especially in the financial services sector.

Dr. Mario Daberkow is new to the Volkswagen Group. Before joining the group, Daberkow, who holds a doctorate in mathematics, was the Member of the Board of Management of Deutsche Postbank AG responsible for IT and operations. Daberkow started his career at Berlin Technical University. After spending some time with McKinsey, he joined Deutsche Postbank as Head of Bank Organization in 2002. He was appointed Member of the Board of Management responsible for services in 2006 and Member of the Board of Management responsible for information technology and operations in 2009.

Hans Dieter Pötsch, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft responsible for finance and controlling and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Volkswagen Financial Services AG, said: “With Dr. Daberkow, we have secured the services of an outstanding expert. He has comprehensive experience in IT strategy development and implementation as well as excellent knowledge in the field of process management.”
