Ford offers the power of choice with a range of eco-friendly, fuel-efficient vehicles. But did you know that if you purchase one, you might be eligible for a tax credit? The Ontario, Quebec and B.C. governments are offering rebates to Canadian drivers who choose vehicles with plug-in hybrid or battery-electric technology.
And there’s even better news, as certain sustainable Ford models offer excellent rebates, with up to $8,500 in credit available depending on where you live and what you buy.
Focus Electric
The Ford Focus Electric has among the highest tax credits (over $8,000 in some cases). And with it, you’ll never have to pay for gas again—it’s a battery-powered, zero-emissions vehicle. The 2013 Focus Electric’s 23kWh Lithium-Ion battery can be charged right at home with the standard 120V charger, or you can choose to have a 240-volt home charging station installed. This way, you’ll be fully charged and ready to go in just about four hours.
Fusion Energi
You can get up to $5,800 in tax credits with a 2013 Ford Fusion Energi. The sleek design and in-car technology make this one stand out. It can also help you maximize your fuel economy: you can manually switch between EV modes to minimize fuel consumption.
C-MAX Energi
You can also get up to $5,800 in tax credits for the 2013 Ford C-MAX Energi, a plug-in hybrid vehicle that offers a lot of performance and in-car technology. The SYNC with MyFord Touch™ allows you to stay connected as you cruise along on the highway in battery mode. The combination of torque and horsepower give you the power you need in the passing lane.
Whether your concern is for the planet or your wallet (or both!), provincial governments are making it easier to feel good behind the wheel. And we’re happy to help.
Bonus: Using the MyFord® Mobile app on your smartphone, you can monitor your battery levels and even set your Fusion Energi, C-MAX Energi, or Focus Electric to charge on off-peak hydro hours, helping you save money with every charge.
