TORONTO (Thursday, February 15, 2018) – Chevrolet today introduced the all-new 2019 Silverado and the fastest-ever Corvette ZR1 at the Canadian International Auto Show.
“Chevrolet’s portfolio of cars, crossovers, SUVs and Pickups is as broad and diverse as our country,’ said Laura Pacey, brand director, Chevrolet in Canada. “It is this diversity and spirit of progress that inspires us every day to find new roads as a brand.”
Over the past three years, Chevrolet has transformed its showroom, introducing some of the most innovative, technologically-advanced vehicles in the industry.
“It’s safe to say Canadians love Chevy trucks, as demonstrated by the continued success of our Colorado, Silverado and Silverado HD,” said Doug Kenzie, brand manager, Chevrolet Trucks in Canada. “The 2019 Silverado is all-new from the ground up, offering eight models, each with its own combination of design, technology, and performance ensuring every customer can find their ideal truck.”
After selling 85 million trucks over 100 years, Chevrolet has learned a lot about what truck buyers want and need, and has put all of that customer knowledge into the all-new Silverado.
The all-new Silverado sets the course for the next century of Chevy Trucks with the most functional bed of any full-size truck, weighs up to 450 pounds less for increased performance, and offers a broad range of trims and engine/transmission combinations, including an all-new Duramax 3.0L diesel.
“The new Corvette ZR1 is the fastest and most powerful Chevrolet ever,” said Jamie Dewhurst, brand manager for Chevrolet Cars in Canada. “This combination of design, engineering and racing technology establishes a new global benchmark in performance, putting other supercars on notice.”
The Corvette ZR1’s exclusive LT5 supercharged engine, is rated at an SAE-certified 755 horsepower (563 kW) and 715 lb-ft of torque (969 Nm), delivering an incredible 0-60 in under 3 seconds. Further, the ZR1 elevates Corvette’s track capability with two wind tunnel-honed aerodynamics packages, including an available High Wing that provides an estimated 950 pounds of downforce.
The 2019 Silverado and Corvette ZR1 will be on display to the public February 16-25 at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto.
