Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Voted “Best New Sports / Performance Car” by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada

TORONTO (Tuesday, December 3, 2013) – Chevrolet was honoured today by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC), which named the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette the “Best New Sports / Performance Car” in Canada.
“We thank AJAC for bestowing this prestigious award on the Corvette Stingray, demonstrating that Chevrolet can compete with the very best in the world on and off the track in technology, design and performance,” said Rob Assimakopoulos, general director of marketing and communications for Chevrolet in Canada. “The all-new Stingray truly redefines modern performance at a price no competitor can match, attracting new customers to the Chevrolet showroom.”
This latest award for the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray results from recent rigorous back-to-back testing in Niagara Falls, Ontario in October against some of the best sports cars in the world. Vote results are not the personal opinion of just one journalist. Rather, they are based on a combination of objective data and evaluation by 80 journalists of 174 vehicles. Each journalist drives vehicles in a category back-to-back on the same day, under the same conditions, on closed and public roads, so as to ensure consumer relevance.
The 2014 Corvette Stingray is the most powerful standard Corvette model ever, with 455 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. It is also the most capable standard Corvette model ever, able to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than four seconds and achieve more than 1g in cornering grip.
