– Audi connectivity services take first place in five categories  
– New Audi TT* best-connected automobile

Audi TT Coupé - virtual cockpit Five first-place finishes for the four rings: Those are the results of a first-ever reader survey conducted by auto motor und sport and CHIP, in which over 42,500 readers chose the best connectivity features. The awards ceremony will be held in Stuttgart on September 17.

Automobile and smartphone manufacturers, cellular phone service providers and software companies competed for the top spot in a total of ten categories in the “Connectivity Awards 2014” sponsored by auto motor und sport and CHIP. Audi came out top in the categories Navigation, Telephone Integration, Sound System, Entertainment/Multimedia and Connected Cars.

“The awards show that we are on the right track,” said Prof. Dr.Ulrich Hackenberg, Member of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, Technical Development. “We consider connectivity to be a megatrend that will keep us busy well into the future. We use Audi connect to seamlessly connect our automobiles with their environment – with the driver, the Internet, infrastructure and other vehicles.”

Winning technologies were the Audi MMI navigation plus system, the Audi phone box, the BangOlufsen Sound System in the Audi S3* and the LTE wireless communication standard. In the category “Connected Cars”, the voters chose the new Audi TT as the best-connected car. The connectivity highlight in the compact sports car is the Audi virtual cockpit. It combines the instrument cluster and MMI screen into a central, digital unit, and sets new standards with dynamic animations and precise graphics.

“Electronics play a key role in vehicle connectivity. Our team has worked hard here over the last few years. Awards like this spur us on to further pioneering achievements,” added Ricky Hudi, Head of Electrics/Electronics Development at AUDI AG.
