• Audi once again the most successful brand
• Technical study Audi e-tron quattro concept wins “New Mobility” category
• First place finishes for Navigation, Infotainment, Internet and Multimedia
Audi is for the third consecutive time the most successful brand in the Connected Car Award competition organized by Auto Bild and Computer Bild. The brand with the four rings won a total of five out of nine awards, adding one more than in the 2013 and 2014 competitions. The technical study Audi e-tron quattro concept won first prize in the “New Mobility” category. Audi developments also took first place in the Navigation, Internet Integration, Multimedia/Entertainment and Telephone classes.
Audi’s integration of Google services was victorious in the Navigation category. The LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, which offers fast data transfer between up to eight devices, was recognized in the “Internet Integration” class. The Audi phone box for connecting cell phones and wireless charging took first place in the “Telephone” class. Victory in the “Multimedia/Entertainment” category went to the 3D sound of the Bang Olufsen sound system. And finally, the Audi e-tron quattro concept took home first place in the “New Mobility” competition for its visionary electric drive system. “After our four first-place wins in 2014, being able to take home first place in one additional category this year makes us more proud than ever. This is a reward for the hard work of the entire Audi team and motivates us for the future. We are also working to tackle many milestones next year on the road to connected mobility and to continuously improving road safety,” says Ricky Hudi, Executive Vice President Electronic Development.
This is the third time that Auto Bild and Computer Bild magazines have presented the Connected Car awards. Experts from both magazines preselected candidates in all nine categories and readers then voted for their favorites. Trophies for Connected Car Award winners will be presented during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January 2016 in Las Vegas.
