Audi Sport patron racing with dual partner teams in new WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup

The WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup was before famous as a FIA World Touring Car Championship. For Audi Sport patron racing, a Comtoyou Racing and WRT teams will strictly be on a grid.

Team WRT from Baudour, Belgium – one of a many successful Audi patron teams in GT3 racing given 2010 – will ready dual Audi RS 3 LMS cars for Gordon Shedden and Jean-Karl Vernay. 38-year-old Scotsman Gordon Shedden has won a British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) 3 times, many recently in a 2016 season. 30-year-old Frenchman Jean-Karl Vernay was 2010 Indy Lights Champion in a United States, won a 2012 Porsche Carrera Cup in France and a 2017 TCR International Series. Both drivers are awarded Audi Sport motorist status. 

31-year-old Belgian Frédéric Vervisch will competition as an Audi Sport motorist in a WTCR as well. The 2008 ATS Formula 3 Cup leader and Audi Sport patron racing GT3 supporter will continue to expostulate for Comtoyou Racing. Last year, a patrol formed in Waterloo, Belgium, relied on Vervisch in a TCR International Series as well. Three teammates finish a lineup. 23-year-old Frenchman and TCR International Series race-winner Aurélien Panis, 25-year-old Belgian Denis Dupont, who is upheld by a Royal Automobile Club Belgium (RACB), and 28-year-old Frenchman Nathanaël Berton – a 2016/17 champion in a Trophée Andros ice racing array – will competition a events as highwayman drivers.
