The Nissan GT-R LM NISMO team just doesn’t know when to quit. The team continue to fight at the Le Mans 24 Hours despite the disappointment of losing the retro no.21 machine. Former GT Academy winner Lucas Ordóñez explains below what happened to Super GT champion Tsugio Matsuda when he was behind the wheel.
Six Hours
At 1/4 race distance, the Nissan GT-R LM NISMO machines are still running at Le Mans with ex-Formula 1 driver Max Chilton just completing his first stint behind the wheel at Le Mans. Chilton completed a triple stint aboard the No.23 machine he is sharing with Jann Mardenborough and Olivier Pla.
Three Hours
After three hours at the Le Mans 24 Hours, all three Nissan GT-R LM NISMOs continue to turn laps. Starting drivers Jann Mardenborough (23), Harry Tincknell (22) and Lucas Ordóñez all recorded triple stints to kick things off. We spoke with Ordóñez after he had his first run aboard the retro-livered no.21 machine.
