  • Nissan GT-R selected as “Best Coupe,” Nissan Versa Note “Best Hatchback”
  • Winners determined based on site traffic research and lead submissions

NASHVILLE – The Nissan GT-R and Versa Note were today announced as Coupe and Hatchback category winners, respectively, in the first annual “Autobytel Buyer’s Choice Awards.” The award winners reflect the strongest combination of site traffic research and the submission of lead forms, compared to all others in their competitive sets.

“After analyzing the data from the past year, it is clear to us that car buyers are most interested in quality, reliability, design, safety, and performance,” said Autobytel Editor-In-Chief Joni Gray. “These are some of the most innovative and beautiful vehicles on the market today.”

The GT-R, Nissan’s legendary supercar, received a fresh look inside and out, as well as major driving performance enhancements and key new features for the 2017 model year. It is equipped with a 3.8-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 rated at 565-horsepower and 467 lb-ft of torque, dual-clutch sequential 6-speed transmission and electronically controlled ATTESA E-TS all-wheel-drive system. The GT-R NISMO model offers 600 horsepower and additional motorsports-inspired styling and equipment.

The popular Versa Note has been enhanced for the 2017 model year with refreshed exterior and interior treatments. It continues to feature a 109 horsepower 1.6-liter DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder and Xtronic transmission with D-Step Shift logic.

“While the GT-R and Versa Note occupy somewhat opposite ends of Nissan’s product lineup in terms of performance and pricing, they share a strong interest by consumers conducting new vehicle research on the Autobytel website,” said Eric Ledieu, director, Chief Marketing Manager – Sedans, Sports Cars NISMO, Nissan North America. “Active research is a great indicator of a vehicle’s vitality in the marketplace and we’re pleased to be among the leaders in this new Autobytel study.”
