What’s New – November 2018

The 2019 model year is another big one for Nissan, starting with the November launch of the all-new 2019 Nissan Altima, which is the first application of all-wheel drive on a Nissan sedan in North America, and fitted as standard in Canada. The 2019 Altima is bringing fresh style and excitement back to the mid-size sedan category with new exterior and interior styling, a new platform, and an updated 2.5L engine. It has a starting MSRP of $27,9981.

Also added to the list of autumn debuts are the 2019 Rogue; Qashqai; Murano and Kicks.

Arriving to showrooms early 2019 is the 2019 TITAN and TITAN XD – both available with the dynamic new Fender Premium Audio System.
The 2019 Nissan lineup got off to an early start last spring with the 370Z, followed in the summer by Sentra, Versa Sedan, Frontier, LEAF and Armada. Specific information on each of these models follows.

Some of the key changes for the 2019 model year include the wide adoption of the Rear Door Alert (RDA) system and NissanConnect® with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™.

Also new for 2019 is Nissan Safety Shield 360, a suite of active safety technologies, first available on the all-new 2019 Altima and 2019 Rogue, followed by Maxima and Murano in early 2019. Nissan Safety Shield 360 will come standard on one million new vehicles sold annually in North America by 2021. The suite of advanced driver-assist systems includes Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist and Rear Intelligent Emergency Braking. Safety Shield 360 supports the Nissan Intelligent Mobility vision to redefine how cars are driven, powered and integrated into society.

2019 Nissan Altima

The all-new 2019 Altima is offered in three trim levels – S, SV, and Platinum. All three come equipped with standard Intelligent All-Wheel Drive and a new, 2.5-litre engine.

The starting MSRP2 of $27,998 includes a long list of standard features, including Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated seats, heated mirrors, remote engine start, 8.0-inch colour display with multi-touch control, Intelligent Emergency Braking (IEB), Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (I-FCW) and Rear Door Alert (RDA).

The 2019 Altima is designed to shake up the midsize sedan market, elevating its competitiveness in the segment with exclusive Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies such as the advanced, semi-autonomous, ProPILOT Assist1.

It is also the second Nissan model, following the recently launched 2019 Nissan Rogue, to offer Nissan Safety Shield 360 – which includes Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Intelligent Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning (LDW), radar-based Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and High Beam Assist (HBA).

Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Prices2 (MSRP) for the 2019 Nissan Altima Sedan:

The 2019 Altima’s expressive design is lower, longer and wider than the previous generation with a highly balanced, aggressive stance that includes available 19-inch wheels and tires. Inside, the all-new premium interior features a wide “gliding wing” instrument panel – which accentuates the exterior’s low cowl and hood, helping create an open, airy environment. It is available in a range of seven dynamic exterior colours.

Key interior comfort and convenience features range from standard 8-way power driver’s seat with added bolstering for improved holding and support, to a selection of audio and infotainment choices, including a Bose® Premium Audio system with nine speakers, and a new digital amplifier with eight channels of custom equalization.

The 2019 Altima also offers available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive for the first time ever on a Nissan sedan in North America. The AWD system is the standard and only drivetrain option for Altima in Canada.

Standard on all grade levels is a new 2.5-litre DOHC inline 4-cylinder direct injection engine, which is rated at 182 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. The new engine is more refined, quieter and offers improved fuel economy (based on EPA figures).

The range of safety and convenience features includes standard Intelligent Emergency Braking (IEB), Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (I-FCW) and Intelligent Driver Alertness (I-DA) on all grades. Intelligent Around View Monitor (I- AVM) is standard on the Altima Platinum.

2019 Nissan TITAN

U.S. model shown

The Nissan TITAN half-ton pickup enters the 2019 model year with a range of enhancements – starting with an all-new Fender® Premium Audio System. It is offered on two 2019 TITAN Crew Cab grade levels. The system’s 485-watt, 9-channel amplifier with Panasonic’s proprietary Acoustic Motion Control™ renders the reverberation and ambience of original recordings with stunning realism. It is designed to provide the precise, tight bass sound control usually reserved for a studio rather than a full-size pickup. The result is the delivery of “arena-sized sound” to the roomy TITAN Crew Cab cabins.

Other changes for 2019 include:

  • A new 7.0-inch touchscreen audio/IT display with NissanConnect® featuring Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ – standard on all models
  • New Rear Door Alert (RDA) system1, which helps remind drivers to check the back seat after the vehicle is parked, added as standard equipment on TITAN King Cab and Crew Cab models
  • An additional USB media port (two total)
  • A pair of illuminated USB-A charge ports is added to PRO-4X, SL and Platinum Reserve grades
  • A new body-colour outer grille with gloss metallic black inner treatment for the SV grade (replaces the previous chrome grille treatment)
  • Two new exterior paint colours: Midnight Pine Metallic and Moab Sunset Metallic

As part of a Nissan model line initiative, the innovative Rear Door Alert (RDA) system is now standard on all King Cab and Crew Cab TITAN models. The system uses the vehicle’s door sensors, horn and message display to help remind drivers to check the back seat after the vehicle is parked. Nissan plans to have RDA standard on all four- door trucks, sedans and SUV nameplates by model year 2022.

Again in 2019, TITAN is available in a full range of rugged half-ton models, including Single Cab, King Cab and Crew Cab body configurations, 4×2 and 4×4 drive, and a choice of up to six grade levels. Every TITAN is powered by a 390-horsepower 5.6- litre Endurance® V8 gasoline engine mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission.

The TITAN Midnight Edition Package, introduced last year, is again available on Crew Cab SV and SL grades, providing a custom look straight from the factory.

Like the TITAN XD, the TITAN was developed with core Nissan planning, design, engineering and manufacturing teams contributing from Tennessee, California, Michigan, Arizona and Mississippi. The TITAN is assembled in Canton, Mississippi, with its V8 engines assembled in Decherd, Tennessee.2

Every 2019 TITAN is covered by Canada’s Best Truck Warranty3, featuring bumper- to-bumper coverage of 5-years/160,000-kilometres, whichever comes first.

2019 Nissan TITAN XD

The 2019 Nissan TITAN XD stakes out a unique position between traditional heavy- duty and light-duty trucks, offering some of the effortless towing and hauling of larger, more expensive heavy-duty trucks – yet with fuel-efficiency and affordability closer to a half-ton pickup.

For the 2019 model year, TITAN XD, like the TITAN half-ton, features a range of enhancements – starting with an all-new Fender® Premium Audio System.

Other TITAN XD changes for 2019 include:

  • A new 7.0-inch touchscreen audio/IT display with NissanConnect® featuring Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ – standard on all models
  • New Rear Door Alert (RDA) system1, which helps remind drivers to check the back seat after the vehicle is parked, added as standard equipment on TITAN XD models
  • An additional USB media port (two total)
  • A pair of illuminated USB-A charge ports is added to PRO-4X, SL and Platinum Reserve grades
  • A new body-colour outer grille with gloss metallic black inner treatment for the SV grade (replaces the previous chrome grille treatment)
  • Larger capacity DEF tank
  • Two new exterior paint colours: Midnight Pine Metallic and Moab Sunset Metallic

The 2019 TITAN XD lineup only includes Crew Cab body style, one bed length, choice of a powerful Cummins® 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel or Nissan 5.6- litre Endurance® V8 engines, 4×4 driveline only and up to four well-equipped grade levels. TITAN XD has an available maximum towing capacity of 11,960 pounds and maximum payload capacity of 2,470 pounds (when properly equipped).

2019 Nissan Rogue

Rogue remains Nissan’s top-selling model in Canada, offering expanded standard technology for the new model year. Pricing starts at $26,7981 for the Rogue S front-wheel drive model.

Following enhancements for 2018, the 2019 Rogue again offers a range of significant updates, including:

  • Expanded technology and availability, including Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Intelligent Lane Intervention (I-LI), Intelligent Emergency Braking (IEB) with Pedestrian Detection and High Beam Assist (HBA) across all grade levels
  • Rear Intelligent Emergency Braking3 (R-IEB) and Rear Sonar System added as standard on SL grade
  • Innovative Rear Door Alert4 (RDA) added to all grade levels
  • ProPILOT Assist now available on the SV grade, and standard on SL grade (previously available as a package on the SL trim)

Rogue exterior highlights include body-colour heated outside mirrors with available integrated turn signals, a rear spoiler, privacy glass and roof rails. Rogue’s available power panoramic moonroof offers a wide view of the outside world through its extended length. A convenient Motion-Activated Liftgate is standard on the SL grade.

Inside, the 2019 Rogue offers a premium look and feel throughout. Every 2019 Rogue features as standard, NissanConnectSM featuring Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, with a 7.0-inch colour touch-screen display. Rogue SL models include a Bose® audio system with nine speakers. As in previous years, the 2019 Rogue offers exceptional passenger and cargo flexibility with its innovative, standard Divide-N-Hide® Cargo System. The new, standard Rear Door Alert (RDA) system can help remind customers of items that may be forgotten in the rear seat – valuables, dry cleaning, groceries and more.

All 2019 Rogue models are equipped with a responsive 2.5-litre 4-cylinder engine rated at 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. The engine is matched with an advanced Xtronic transmission with standard Sport Mode and Eco switches. Rogue is available with an intuitive All-Wheel Drive system or front-wheel drive. Fuel economy is rated at 9.1L/100 km city, 7.1L/100 km highway and 8.2 L/100 km combined for front-wheel drive models. Rogue AWD models are estimated at 9.6 L/100 km city, 7.5L/100 km highway and 8.7L/100 km combined4.

No mention of the 2019 Rogue would be complete without highlighting the advanced ProPILOT Assist technology, which is core to Nissan Intelligent Mobility and is the foundation for autonomous vehicles of the future. ProPILOT Assist which debuted on the 2018 Rogue, helps drivers stay centered in the lane, navigate stop-and-go highway traffic, maintain a set vehicle speed and maintain a set distance to the vehicle ahead.

Other available technology includes Intelligent Around View® Monitor (I-AVM), radar- based Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Intelligent Lane Intervention (I-LI), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC): High Beam Assist (HBA) and Rear Intelligent Emergency Braking (R-IEB).

2019 Nissan Qashqai

Since its market launch in the spring of 2017, the Qashqai compact SUV has been a hit with Canadian customers, and is now the second-best selling vehicle in the Nissan Canada lineup.

For model year 2019, the Qashqai offers a suite of safety features now fitted as standard: Intelligent Emergency Braking (IEB); Blind Spot Warning (BSW); Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA); and the innovative Rear Door Alert (RDA) system.

Fitted as standard is NissanConnect® featuring Apple CarPlayTM and Android AutoTM, as well as an additional USB port in the centre console, and Nissan’s versatile Divide-N-Hide® cargo system. The Qashqai SL features a nine speaker, Bose® audio system.

The 2019 Qashqai also becomes the fourth Nissan model to offer Nissan’s semi-autonomous drive technology, ProPILOT Assist (standard on the SL trim).

2019 Nissan Armada

Every 2019 Armada full size sport utility vehicle comes with a comprehensive suite of standard features – including class-above 8-passenger seating, best-in-class1 standard 390 horsepower and towing capacity2 of 8,500 pounds (when properly equipped), Intelligent Emergency Braking and Intelligent Cruise Control.

For 2019, all Armada models now feature:

  • Standard Rear Door Alert (RDA)3

The 2019 Armada is available in a choice of three grade levels –SL, Platinum and Platinum Reserve – each equipped with a 5.6-litre Endurance® V8 and 7-speed automatic transmission.

The 2019 Armada’s standard Rear Door Alert (RDA) system is designed to help remind customers of items that may be forgotten in the rear seat – pets, valuables, dry cleaning, groceries and more. Also among the many advanced technology systems standard on 2019 Armada Platinum and Platinum Reserve models is the Intelligent Rear View Mirror (I-RVM)5, which uses a high-resolution camera mounted on the rear of the vehicle to project a clear image onto an LCD monitor built into the rearview mirror.

Armada’s extensive suite of available advanced safety and convenience systems includes Intelligent Distance Control (I-DC), Intelligent Emergency Braking (IEB), Lane Departure Warning/Intelligent Lane Intervention (LDW/I-LI), Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Intelligent Back-up Intervention (I-BI), Remote Engine Start System, Family Entertainment System and Intelligent Around View® Monitor (I- AVM).

2019 Nissan LEAF

The Nissan LEAF is the best-selling electric vehicle in the world with more than 348,000 global sales and over 10,000 Canadian sales since its 2011 market debut.

The current, second-generation Nissan LEAF, introduced just last year, is the embodiment of Nissan Intelligent Mobility, the company’s approach to changing the way cars are driven, powered and integrated into society. The three key aspects of Nissan Intelligent Mobility, are Nissan Intelligent Driving, Nissan Intelligent Power and Nissan Intelligent Integration. The 2019 LEAF features a 242 kilometre driving range1, attractive exterior design, roomy high tech interior and advanced technologies including ProPILOT™ Assist2 and e-Pedal3.

For 2019, Nissan LEAF adds standard Rear Door Alert (RDA)4 (late availability). A longer range LEAF version will be available in the future.

The 2019 Nissan LEAF’s lithium-ion battery pack delivers an estimated range of 242 kilometres, which should satisfy the daily driving needs of the majority of Nissan LEAF owners.

Available technology and convenience features include standard e-Pedal, Intelligent Emergency Braking (IEB), automatic on/off headlights, Nissan Intelligent Key™ with Push Button Start, Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, Streaming Audio via Bluetooth®, SiriusXM® Satellite Radio (SiriusXM® subscription required, sold separately), Hands-free Text Messaging Assistant, Automatic Temperature Control with HVAC timer (7.0-inch information display) and 60/40 split fold-down rear seat.

Also available are NissanConnect with Navigation featuring Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, NissanConnect Services Powered by SiriusXM®, Bose® Premium Audio with seven speakers, Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Quick Charge Port, Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Intelligent Around View® Monitor (I-AVM) and Intelligent Driver Alertness (I-DA).

Every 2019 Nissan LEAF is offered with a limited warranty6 covering defects in materials or workmanship for eight years or 160,000 kilometres, whichever comes first, for the lithium-ion battery pack. Nissan also provides a limited warranty against battery capacity loss below nine bars of capacity as shown on the vehicle’s battery capacity level gauge for the first eight years or 160,000 kilometres for all models.

2019 Nissan Versa Note

Following a late 2018 model year update, which saw the addition of standard RearView Monitor and 7.0-inch colour audio system touchscreen display, the 2019 Versa Note adds available NissanConnect featuring Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ and SiriusXM® Satellite Radio (SiriusXM® subscription required, sold separately) to SV and SR grade levels.

Versa Note is offered in three well-equipped models: S, SV and SR. Versa Note SR offers a number of sporty exterior and interior treatments, including fog lights, rear spoiler, body- colour side sills, suede-like seats, sport leather wrapped steering wheel, 16-inch machine- finished aluminum-alloy wheels and outside rearview mirrors with integrated turn signals.

The roomy five-passenger Versa Note cabin provides a spacious total interior volume of 112.9 cubic feet/3,197 litres and ample cargo space of 18.8 cubic feet/523 litres. The interior also offers front headroom of 40.8 inches/1,036 mm and rear legroom of 38.3 inches/973 mm – making Versa Note both adult comfortable and child friendly.

The 2019 Versa Note is powered by a 1.6-litre DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine, matched with a next-generation Nissan Xtronic transmission, helping achieve up to 6.2L/100km highway fuel economy2. The advanced Xtronic transmission features D-step Logic Control, which simulates shifts, giving a natural acceleration feeling without holding a high rpm constant.

2019 Nissan Sentra

For the 2019 model year, all Sentra grades (except Sentra S) receive standard NissanConnectSM with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. Also new is the SV Special Edition Package, which features 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, rear disc brakes, Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), power sliding glass moonroof with tilt feature, center room dim lamp (LED), dual illuminated visor vanity mirrors and Special Edition badge.

The 2019 Sentra lineup includes two well-equipped models Sentra S (6MT and Xtronic), and Sentra SV (Xtronic).

Pricing starts at $16,5981 for the Sentra S with 6-speed manual transmission.

All normally-aspirated Sentra models utilize a fuel-efficient 124-horsepower 1.8-litre 4- cylinder engine mated to an advanced Xtronic transmission with sub-planetary gear. A 6- speed manual transmission is also available with the Sentra S grade (when equipped with the manual, the Sentra S has 130 horsepower).
A number of Nissan’s advanced Safety Shield Technologies are available: Intelligent Emergency Braking (IEB) (standard on Sentra S Xtronic) and available Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).

2019 Nissan Frontier

With its starting MSRP of $24,4981, Frontier continues as one of the best value propositions on the Canadian market. Frontier has also been named “the highest ranked midsize pickup in initial quality2” for the past three years in-a-row by J.D. Power in the company’s Initial Quality Study.

Enhancements for the 2019 Frontier include: the addition of standard 7.0-inch colour audio display touchscreen for S and SV grades and expanded availability of the popular Cayenne Red Metallic exterior colour.

In addition, the Midnight Edition, introduced last year, continues with the 2019 Frontier. The Midnight Edition creates a dramatic look with the combination of a gloss black grille, 18-inch gloss black aluminum-alloy wheels, semi-gloss black step rails, body-colour front and rear bumpers, black outside rearview mirrors and door handles and black badging. It is available in the Crew Cab 4×4 automatic transmission model and in a choice of Magnetic Black, Gun Metallic and Glacier White exterior colours.

The 2019 Frontier is available in both King Cab and Crew Cab body styles and in 4×2 (King cab only) and 4×4 driveline configurations, along with a choice of two powerplants: a 4.0-litre DOHC V6 engine rated at 261 horsepower, or a 152-horsepower 2.5-litre inline 4-cylinder engine (King Cab only). Five trim grades are offered: Frontier S (4-cylinder and V6), SV, Midnight Edition (Crew Cab V6 only), PRO-4X, and SL (Crew Cab V6 only).

Nissan’s iconic sports car presents tremendous value with the starting Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP)1 for the entry-level 370Z Coupe unchanged for four model years in-a-row – $29,998. For 2019, the Heritage Edition package is offered on the base 370Z. Intended for 370Z Coupe buyers who want to stand out from the crowd even further, the new Heritage Edition package is available in two exterior colours – Deep Blue Pearl and Chicane Yellow.
