Oshawa, Ontario (May 3, 2016) — Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers delivered 26,596 vehicles in April 2016.  Calendar year-to-date total sales are up 8 per cent and retail sales are up 10 per cent.

John Roth, vice president, sales, service and marketing for GM Canada said, “In April we remained focused on our strategy of growing profitable retail share while maintaining disciplined incentive spending and reducing rental deliveries.  Calendar year-to-date retail sales are up nearly 10 percent and consumer demand remains strong for our new launch products like the Chevrolet Spark and Volt.  2016 is one of our biggest launch years ever with nine new Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillacs hitting showroom floors throughout the year.”

April 2016 Brand Sales Highlights:

  • Sales of the Chevrolet Spark are up 542 per cent, Volt are up 277 per cent, Impala up 3 per cent, Trax up 17 per cent, Tahoe up 17 per cent and Colorado up 30 per cent
  • Buick sales are up 39 per cent for the month driven by the sales of the Verano (up 44 per cent), LaCrosse (up 25 per cent), Encore (up 76 per cent) and Enclave (up 49 per cent)
  • Sales of the GMC Canyon are up 14 per cent for the month

Overall, Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers delivered 26,596 vehicles in April 2016, a decrease of 9 per cent versus April 2015.  

Data is not adjusted for the difference in selling days; April 2016 had 27 selling days and April 2015 had 25 selling days.
