GM Canada Announces Peter Cho as Vice President General Counsel

Oshawa, Ontario (March 18, 2015) — GM Canada today announced that Peter Cho joined the company as vice president, general counsel. He will also become a member of the GM Canada Board of Directors.
Most recently, Cho was general counsel, corporate secretary head of government relations at the Volkswagen Group Canada. Previously, Cho served as senior director, head of regional business management office for Volkswagen Group China as well general counsel for Kia Canada. Cho began his legal career at the Canadian law firms of Fasken Martineau DuMoulin and Macleod Dixon.
GM Canada president and managing director, Stephen K. Carlisle said, “I am very pleased to welcome Peter to the GM Canada team. Cho will report jointly to Steve Carlisle, president and managing director for GM Canada and Lucy Clark Dougherty, vice president, general counsel GMNA Chief Legal Advisor, Global Vehicle Safety. He will be a member of GM Canada’s Executive Committee.
To further strengthen continuity around the Company’s ongoing legal matters, Christina Cuthbert, currently a lawyer with the GM Canada legal team managing dealer markets, restructuring and environmental matters, will be appointed to assistant general counsel, GM Canada, reporting to Peter, effective March 30, 2015. Additionally, Christina will be expanding her responsibilities becoming secretary for the GM Canada Board of Directors.
