Munich. The final turn (11) of a
FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup, Baja Portalegre 500, ended
currently (27-10-2018) with a MINI one-two result. This success comes on
a behind of MINI securing a sixth FIA World Cup pretension only weeks
progressing when Jakub ‘Kuba’ Przygonski amassed an irrefutable point
lead during Rallye du Maroc (Round 10) to take a championship win.

Spain’s Joan “Nani” Roma and co-driver Alex Haro (SP) gathering their
MINI John Cooper Works Rally during a quick gait during Friday’s Leg 1 in
Portugal. Despite a puncture, followed by difficult sleet and slippery
conditions over a final 15 km, they finished Leg 1 with a extrinsic lead
over a chasing pack.

Today’s Leg 2 was also a quick paced event that saw Roma get dual more
punctures  and finish a final theatre in second place though fractionally
forward on altogether time, concealment a Spaniard and co-driver Haro a win.

Stéphane Peterhansel (FR) and his new co-driver David Castera (FR)
finished a successful competition entrance in Portugal for X-raid MINI JCW
Team. Competing during Baja Portalegre 500 in a MINI John Cooper Works
Rally, to finalise competition preparations forward of Dakar 2019, a pair
mislaid time from a puncture in Leg 1. However, they pushed hard
via Leg 2 to secure a theatre win and second overall. The twin now
demeanour to Dakar 2019 and their initial rival tour in a MINI John
Cooper Works Buggy.

Joan “Nani” Roma: “The final theatre was not easy and we
had dual punctures within 70km, that caused us to stop twice, but
we’re happy and it was critical to exam all in a automobile before
Dakar. The MINI John Cooper Works Rally goes unequivocally well. It was not
an easy race; it was unequivocally twisty and there were a lot of trees, so
it was utterly complicated.”

Stéphane Peterhansel: “It was a good weekend for us
and a good event for me to finish a final training with David
Castera before Dakar. As always, a Baja Portalegre is a really
engaging race; a pushing is not easy. We finished second, which
is not a best place though we were not focused on winning. Our focus
was on Dakar training; a automobile was good, we had no problems, a speed
was not so bad. For me, it was like we expected, good stroke and a good
feeling with David, so ideal weekend.”
