2013 Buick Encore Recognized as Consumer Best Value in Canada

Oshawa, Ontario (Monday, September 23, 2013) – The 2013 Buick Encore has been recognized by Vincentric as a Consumer Best Value in Canada in the Premium Compact Crossover segment. This award is a result of Buick’s dedication to providing customers a versatile and efficient small CUV.
“The 2013 Buick Encore delivers the luxury and functionality that today’s consumers are looking for, in a right sized, efficient and manoeuvrable vehicle,” said Vincent Boillot, marketing manager, crossovers, General Motors of Canada. “The value reinforced by the Vincentric award demonstrates the effort and attention to detail given by our engineers and designers.”
The 2013 Encore brings a smaller footprint and high efficiency to the Buick showroom, but the brand’s newest model maintains the commitment to safety. The Encore has 10 standard air bags, a standard Rear Vision Camera and the security of OnStar. Other standard features include StabiliTrak stability enhancement and a 138-horsepower (102 kW) Ecotec 1.4L turbo four-cylinder/six-speed automatic powertrain, along with technologies such as Buick’s voice-activated IntelliLink, all for the starting price of just $27,130, plus $1,550 destination charge.
To determine the 2013 Vincentric Best Value in Canada awards, Vincentric analyzed over 1,800 vehicle configurations measuring cost-of-ownership using eight different cost factors: depreciation, fees taxes, financing, fuel, insurance, maintenance, opportunity cost, and repairs. Using a statistical model, the company identified the Vincentric Best Value in Canada™ winners by measuring which vehicles had lower than expected ownership costs given their market segment and price.
